New Private WhatsApp Group for Close Protection Professional Taskings

New Private WhatsApp Group for Close Protection Professional Taskings

Westminster Security has an established private company WhatsApp group for swift, secure and streamlined communications with candidates registered with us for employment and contracting opportunities. We have added anyone whom has successfully completed a close protection (CP) or residential security team (RST) task for us since after lockdown. We then publish our ongoing recruitment requirements in this official group and not in the many other low-quality, unvetted, insecure industry groups.

In this way, Westminster Security can deploy ‘tried and tested’ operatives that we know and trust with our clients and hard earned reputation. And our clients can be sure they are not simply hiring anyone that happens to be available without any due diligence, checks, NDAs, or relationships in place. We currently have over 100 CPOs registered, fully screened and vetted ready to deploy at a moment’s notice.

The time has come to retire our old ‘staff database’ of over 1600 operatives which we seldom used as many have since left the industry after lockdown, or downgraded their SIA licence due to the “CP up-skilling” requirement. Therefore, we are now creating a secondary WhatsApp group of “unknown” operatives that were previously registered with us on our legacy database. We will offer members of this group ad hoc work such as VIP event security, RST, and the occasional low-risk fastball CP tasks to enable you to prove yourself to us. Once successful you will be invited to the main group and ported across.

Before applying:

  1. You must hold a current Close Protection SIA licence. We do not deploy security guard (SG) or door supervisor (DS) licence holders. If you are a DS or SG aspiring to be a CPO, check out this article: ‘How to become a bodyguard‘.
  1. Check your CV is up to date and of an acceptable standard. Almost all SIA licence holders need to take our expert advice on CVs.
  1. Before applying, all CPOs should read and take note of this article: ‘Fatal flaws of the modern bodyguard‘.
  1. You must agree to security screening and vetting to BS7858 standards before being accepted. You must provide all requested documents within 30 days.

PLEASE NOTE: The close protection sector is now in its ‘famine’ phase throughout winter, where ad hoc close protection tasks are very rare, so group activity will be low to none until the ‘feast’ phase come spring/summer. Therefore, please do not hassle us for work, we cannot offer work opportunities if no one is travelling or requires protection. Anyone asking will immediately forfeit their membership, without exception.

To apply to join our new tasking group, please visit our Recruitment Page and complete our application form to start the onboarding process. If you have already completed the form in September (2024), you do not need to do it again; we will be in touch with further instructions in due course.
